What are you doing on 6th of June? Japanese Anime Event

There will be a "Costume Player Event" on Wajima city Ishikawa on 6th of June.

People will dress up as an Anime Character. If you have no plans, why not visit?

I feel little bit fuzzy to hear that the city hold an event like this.

I remember, ten years ago, Anime loving Otaku was really treated like gay. No one wanted to hang around with them, and no one didn't reveal that they love Anime because they don't want be call Otaku. But today, we Japanese take Manga and Anime as our sub-culture. Before, we didn't find Anime and Manga as something special and something to be proud of. Amine and Manga was just too normal for us. It is after Anime and Manga making big big success oversea, and proved that it moves a lot of money, that Anime and Manga started to taken our culture to be proud of.

So for me, city holding an Otaku event is weired because, ten years ago, it wouldn't happen.
I can feel that the attitude toward Anime, Manga and Otaku are changing, also that people are becoming more open towards loving Anime. Tanks to countries oversea!

Do you want to see the REAL Gundam? Japanese Anime-Gundam

Real sized Gundam is going to be displayed in Odaiba park form 11th of July!

It is now on construction and the leg part is done so far. Head part will be connected on the end of June.

Model of Gudam will be "RX-78-2 GUNDAM" from the first series of Anime Gundam, my favorite.
Total height will be 18 meters.




Gumdam is a Japanese Anime that was first brodcasted in 1976. After that, continuing series and a stand alone series were made time to time. It is the Anime still loved. It is probably the legendary Anime in Japanese Anime history.

Eat the Ra-men that Ray eat? Japanese Anime-Evangelion

Secondary big convenient store chain Lawson made a tied up products with Japanese Anime Evangelinon.
The products are 12 in all and it will be soled until 8th of June. So better hurry.

Evangelion is a Japanese TV Anime that was broad casted in 1990s, but it is amazing that it still moves economy.

Are you ready for the Evangelion Map? Japanese Anime-Evangelion

Are you ready for the Evangelion Map?

Good news!
Hakone City Sightseeing Organization will release a collaborate map of Hakone with Japanese Anime Evangelion.
They will release 1 million prints and it will finish when the print goes out.
Pre release starts on 4th of June, and official release date is 11th of June.
The map will passed out at the main sightseeing facilities.I think it is Free.

Got to hurry!



Why map of Hakone?
Because it is said that In the Anime Evangelion, 3rd Tokyo City's (the place where Anime takes place) model is Hakone City.

Why is he called Chad?

Today's focus is Chad.
Have you ever wondered why Chad is called Chad an American nickname?

His full name is Yasutora Sado and it is spelled like below



茶 read "sa" means "tea"
渡 read "do" means "to cross over"
泰 read "yasu" means "calmed and relaxed"
虎 read "tora" means "tiger"

He is called chad because Ichigo miss read Chad's last name Sado.

茶 character can also be read "cha". And "cha" sound's much familiar for us in daily life.
So Ichigo read Chado in stead of Sado.

That's why Chad is called Chad.
In Original Japanese Manga, it is spelled Sado, but probably since there is a nickname Chad, in English version on Anime Bleach he is called Chad.

Today is Tasuki Arisawa from Japanese Anime and Manga Bleach.





有 read "ari" means "exist"
沢 read "sawa" means "stream"
竜 read "tatsu" means "dragon"
貴 read "ki" means " high class"

She all ways writes her name in Hiragana because in Chinese character it seems like a boys name.
And it actually does look like a boy name. Perhaps if it was spelled in other character, it is acceptable.

Japanese Anime and Manga author seem to enjoy naming their character. Especially a Japanese character because by its spelling, the same name can have different meaning.

Inoue is a very common last name in Japan.
I think it is one of the characteristic of character's name in Bleach.

So the author made 虚 to be as hollow in his Manga.
