Why is he called Chad?

Today's focus is Chad.
Have you ever wondered why Chad is called Chad an American nickname?

His full name is Yasutora Sado and it is spelled like below



茶 read "sa" means "tea"
渡 read "do" means "to cross over"
泰 read "yasu" means "calmed and relaxed"
虎 read "tora" means "tiger"

He is called chad because Ichigo miss read Chad's last name Sado.

茶 character can also be read "cha". And "cha" sound's much familiar for us in daily life.
So Ichigo read Chado in stead of Sado.

That's why Chad is called Chad.
In Original Japanese Manga, it is spelled Sado, but probably since there is a nickname Chad, in English version on Anime Bleach he is called Chad.

Today is Tasuki Arisawa from Japanese Anime and Manga Bleach.





有 read "ari" means "exist"
沢 read "sawa" means "stream"
竜 read "tatsu" means "dragon"
貴 read "ki" means " high class"

She all ways writes her name in Hiragana because in Chinese character it seems like a boys name.
And it actually does look like a boy name. Perhaps if it was spelled in other character, it is acceptable.

Japanese Anime and Manga author seem to enjoy naming their character. Especially a Japanese character because by its spelling, the same name can have different meaning.

Inoue is a very common last name in Japan.
I think it is one of the characteristic of character's name in Bleach.
Character's name in Bleach tend to be weird name for a real existing people. Too unique.

Bleach is one of the most favored anime right now among all the Japanese anime.

崎 read "saki", means "cape"
一 read "iti", means "one"
心 read "shin", means "heart"

If you read his first name literally, it will bi "ichishin" but it is read "isshin".
It will be pronounced shorter.

Next elder of the twin sisters, Yuzu Krosaki

It is spelled "虚"2 in original Manga.

虚 read "utsuro", meaning "hollow"

In Anime and Manga Bleach, Hollow is also called Hollow.
In original Manga, Hollow is spelled 虚, but in Japanese it could never be read as Hollow.
So the author made 虚 to be as hollow in his Manga.

Rukia Kuchiki is second main character in anime Bleach.
I think she is cutest anime girl!

キ read "ki" means nothing
ア read "a" means nothing

like ルキア, these symbols are call "katakana" and it makes a sound but it doesn't mean any thing by it's own. "Katakana" is usually used for loan word's from oversea. Because foreign language is impossible to spell in Chinese character.
